Mum's fridge

When you're a little kid your mum worships everything you scribble in crayon, chocolate or clag. Then it goes up on the fridge, awesome.

Nowadays it takes more to impress. I end up sticking my own things up on the fridge myself labeled 'Svetlana age 21'. The masterpiece above is my latest fridge bandit, mum hasn't complained yet though.

The fridge space gets seriously competitive what with all my attention-seeking artwork and the other child, the boy-one's crap. Then there's photos, poems and newspaper clippings that my mum shoves up there as well. I think mum's about a hair away from charging rent space up on that wonderful magnetic gallery.

Yay indie electro thingy!
For only $25 how good is that? Geez my blog has turned into a shameless advertising slot. But really, I'm just trying to spread the word because it would be fun to go to this with a bunch of people.

I can safely say that the Midnight Juggernauts are awesome, as I saw them at Parklife. As for the rest of the line up, they're not half bad either:) Let me know if you're interested and I can grab you a ticket when I get mine, hopefully before they sell out and we have to pay $35 on the door, ewwwww.

Come Down

At about 3am last saturday morning Ye Olde looked at me in horror and said, "Svet, your jaws going crazy".

"What the hell are you talking about?" I replied aggresively as sweat poured down my forehead and glistened under the nightclub lights.
I was totally fine, awesome in fact! I was so happy that a crazy man fell over me, I lost all my friends and still had a top night out.

The next night I felt mighty fine despite being a little spacey but thats probably because I spent all afternoon bouncing on the trampoline in my pjs doing ninja kicks at Christina (also on the trampoline) who was fighting me off with two detatched hose nozzles. Good times, good times.

Yes it wasnt until this morning that I felt anything to punish me for my irresponsible weekend behaviour. I opened my eyes relieved that my nightmare was indeed, just a nightmare and then horrified that my entire body felt like it should have been dead and buried several days ago.

Pain shot up both sides of my jaw and my neck felt swollen and bruised like I had been flirting with a noose in my sleep. As I rose out of the covers my brain flipped and blood swished like an adorable little tsunami wave of agony inside my temples.
As my feet braved the cold floorboards my calves wobbled under my body weight, which just so you know is not supposed to happen.
What kind of strange dancing had I engaged in to pull so many wierd muscles? And why do I feel like I have a swarm of wasps nesting in my spine?

So I did what any come-down victim would do, called all of my friends and then cried sulkily when they couldnt meet up and lavish attention on me at no notice.
Then I went and rented some DVDs that were so trashy and tweeny that I pretended they were for some kids I was babysitting. It's not my fault that I have a thing for Lindsay Lohan ok?!
I ate a cup of lollies (bought from the video store, I wasnt going to go to more than one place!) and then sulked when I realised they were chewy and my busted jaw could handle little more than a smoothie.

The moral of the story is, don't go out and get trashed because you will suffer a come-down and end up watching 'Just my Luck' and 'She's the Man' back to back with the blinds down, shivering under a blanket.

Svetlana and Nikki

Things have acomplished
Learnt how to download free ringtones and put them on my phone
Planned a picnic to which people showed up to
Went for run when it was hot
Bought new runners after months of damage to my feet
Went to centrelink and stood in line for a really long time
Had quiet, sensible weekends good for ones health
Collected a small plastic pony toy from McDonalds

Things have yet to accomplish
Any uni work, less than 6 days late
Planning a picnic to which everyone shows up to
Not running away and hiding behind trees from ex boyfriend's new girlfriends
Any sort of response from Centrelink
Going out and partying irresponsibily to cure boredom
Collected the other four pony toys from McDonalds

Anyway because this post sucked, here's a photoshopped/untouched picture of Nicki Webster when she first decided it would be great for her career to get her gear off and pose for some sleazy guy's mag. Enjoy the grossness.

PICNIC THIS SATURDAY!

Ahhh summery summerness at last! It's so warm I'm actually writing this post in my underwear, ...hello neighbours!

"It's not fucking summer!" Erin would yell at me again if she were here. And then she would continue ranting something like, "Summer's not till Decemember, I know because thats my birthday!"
And I would reply dreamily, "mmm yes... summer"

So with all these faux summer vibes I've gotton in the spirit for some wholesome outdoor activity. But please don't be confused, I don't mean actual active stuff like rockclimbing or marching banding. Thats way too boring and hot.
I've been possesed with a Leah spirit* lately and it's making me want to organise things and do things in the sunshine.

How about a pinic people?

Don't be scared its not a picnic of people as such, there will be no people eating at all.
Just a group of lovely, rowdy friends getting together this weekend for food and drinking and frisbee, maybe some stacks-on as well.
The weather should be our friend this weekend, the forecast is set for 26c Saturday. But keep an eye on it here.

So are you coming? If you read this blog you're pretty much invited unless I decide last minute that you're not:)
Shall we say the usual Botanic Garden spot? (where the moonlight cinema is) Or maybe Flagstaff or Treasury gardens? Give me your answers and we can make a pinic this saturday! All in favour say "I"...

IT HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED...
MEET 3PM FLINDERS STATION FOYER:)
